DE-ESCALATION TRAINING FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROFESSIONALS

This training will:

• Introduce verbal de-escalation techniques to implement in a situation with someone who is in crisis,

• discuss engagement techniques and community resources,

• cover objectives including describing the stages of escalation, defining escalation, identifying the phases of escalation, and defining de-escalation,

• identify effective communication skills and emphasize the importance of non-verbal communication techniques, engagement, and safety.
