Restorative Justice in Practice: Evidence-Informed Approaches for Criminal Justice Professionals

This workshop will:

• Explore foundational principles of restorative justice and how they differ from traditional criminal legal responses.

• Examine practical applications in courts, probation/parole, law enforcement, corrections, and schools.

• Review real case outcomes and data from the state of Delaware and others, including completion rates and restorative programming success.

• Participate in interactive facilitated discussion/activities on the meaning of “justice,” accountability, and the needs of victims/repair of harm.

• Consider how restorative approaches increase compliance, victim engagement, and community trust.
